Dear Old Davis High School...

at the high school fashion show
Some of the girls from the soccer team
Who even knows?
Night out as the "boys"
Hanging out on Halloween
Hangin with P.
And who would have ever thought that these two girls... would marry...
These two studs!!!!!

1. Did you date people from your high school: Not really. I had a lot of crushes on guys from my high school but I mostly dated guys from other schools. I know it was lame.

2. What kind of car did you drive? : 87 Pontiac Oldsmobile. Oh yes. My parents believed I would be kept safe it I had five feet of metal in front and behind me. It even had a name. The Moby. I mostly got chauffeured around by Jamie. She had a Jeep and it was much cooler to be seen in. The best part is that I think the car still lives...

3. What is your most embarrassing moment in high school?: Oh I am sure I had many of them. I think one that I can think of is the first time my mom let me take the car to school. She specifically told me not to take it to lunch with all my friends. So of course, I did. What did I do. Hit a parked car, in the school parking lot, in front of a lot of people. Oh and I was a sophomore and I hit a senior boys nice truck. It was quite embarrassing.

4. Were you a party animal? Sort-of. Not Really. Guess it depends on who you talk to. I enjoyed doing lots of crazy things with my friends. Oh there are so many I wouldn't even know where to begin... And I won't

5. Were you considered a flirt?: I don't really think so. I guess it is up to interpretation. I did supply the infamous stock of clothing that was known as the "Bag of Tricks." Oh man... I just realized how bad that sounds. (it was handed down from my sister) OH there was one time that I had to flirt with Siguenza because I desperately needed his help to fix my car before my parents got home.... Yeah that story is interesting. Just ask Jamie how easy it is to mistake gas that goes in your car from burnt oil... Well it must be hard. Because we put oil in my gas tank... It was a horrible fiasco.. Erik spent all day. When I say all day I mean nine hours, completely tearing off my gas tank and fixing the damage in the engine. Oh... that was bad.

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?: Hell no. Me sing... I was horrible at singing and still to this day have no musical talent.

7. Were you a nerd? : Isn't everyone? I didn't realize my full nerd potential until I decided I wanted to be a teacher. Then I wholly embraced it.

8. Were you on any varsity teams? : DHS Girls Soccer. Such a great experience for me to have during high school. I learned a lot about balancing school and fun. I think some of my most memorable high school experiences came from this aspect of my life. It was so much fun.... Barbie funeral anyone? Beaver One, Beaver all? There are those out there who know what I am talking about.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled? : No. But there were close calls.
10. Can you still sing the fight song? : Of course. It was a requirement of part of the soccer team to know and sing the song religiously... Here is the real question... Can you do the Davis High honk?

11. Who were your favorite teachers? : It may sound redundant but I also loved Gibbs. Probably because he was such a pushover. I also liked Navidomskis. More because I was his TA and he let me sleep on his couch during first period. (I was always tired from clubbing the night before.) I know... it's horrible. I learned a lot about what I do not want my children to do.

12. Where did you sit during lunch? Tasties... especially on chicken and wild rice soup days.

13. School Mascot?: Davis freakin Darts. Totally intimidating.

14. Did you go to homecoming and with who?: Junior Year, Daniel Vettori. We were such good friends. It was so much fun. I also went to Viewmont's with Nate Holiday. Senior Year. Kyle Daley... Oh man. That was fun to. One of my best friends little bros.

15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? : I think I would. I had a good high school experience. Thanks to all my awesome friends. I did have quite a wide variety.

16. What do you remember most about graduation?: Dancing like crazy with Bret Weston and just making sure Jamie wasn't overdosing too much on her pain medication... (she had a broken collarbone.) Sleeping on someones front lawn in the morning... But I don't really remember who's?
17. Where did you go senior skip day?: I don't really think there was one day... There were a lot of sluff days.
18. Have you gained weight since then?: Probably, but not much. I was in much better shape back then. I wish I would have enjoyed the fact that I was skinnier than I am now.

19. Who was your prom date?: Junior Year, Dave Boyd. Senior Year... Erik Siguenza. Enough said.... It was really fun.
20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?: Sure why not? But only if all the people that I already keep in touch with go too. There would be a lot of people that I would love to see, but I don't know if they would come.

21. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?: Don't worry so much. Enjoy where you are. And who cares what others expect you to be? Be yourself.

22. I tag... My sisters, Bryndie, Mech, Lisa, and anyone who wants - I WANT PICS!!

Yes, I know I can't dance!

I just realized that many of you will probably believe that all I ever do is watch TV after this post. But I don't. Thank goodness for Tivo that gives the luxury of hand picking what shows you want to watch. So you think you can dance is a big hit for many of you out there.
(even if you don't admit it) I know it's a secret obsession for many. I was always more of an athlete. I was never a dancer. Quite clumsy, well extremely clumsy and never graceful enough. Now that I am older I can really appreciate how amazing these dancers are. I had the chance to go see the show the other night with some friends from work. Thanks for coming with me guys. It was such a great show. For all you fans out there I just want to say that I left convinced that Will should have won. Did you? He is amazing. Don't get me wrong. I love Joshua. But WOW, Will gave me chills. He is so good and not to mention extremely cute.

Yeah... I have been waiting for this all summer. Now that it is over, what do I have to look forward to?... Oh wait, Lucy will be here this week. Oh and my favorite holiday Halloween is coming up.

Long Live Bravo!!!

Can I give a little thanks to Bravo for entertaining me with two very fantastic reality shows. Project Runway is always a favorite. Does anyone else but me feel inspired to whip up their own little cocktail dress? Oh how I wish I knew the first thing about sewing. There is always something for everyone. So far I am gunning for Leanne. I love her taste and style. She is adorable. Oh and who doesn't love Tim Gunn.
My new favorite show on Bravo is Top Design. This is the Project Runway of HGTV. It's the same concept as Project Runway but with interior designers. Every week I am left feeling like I need to go spend some time rummaging through a thrift stores or visiting a flea market. For anyone out there who loves constantly obsessing over their home decor... (jamis) This show is definitely for you. These contestants are already great designers. Hello, one of them works for Martha Stewart magazine and another designed the sets for Sex and the City. Sick jobs. Since I feel like all I ever do is help people pick out the perfect stuff for their homes, this is my new favorite obsession and perfect way to waste time.

Babies, cows, birthdays, school and such!

Well I think it's about time I post again. Life is definitely crazy at the Smith household. Me and Zac officially are back into school again. I am so glad that there is an end in sight. Well it is a long way to the end of the tunnel but at least it is there. I am loving my student teaching program so far. This week we finally got to start visiting classrooms and teachers to narrow down where we want to do our student teaching. So far East High school is looking really promising. Maybe I can make a cameo in the next High School musical. I am really nervous, anxious, and excited about the next year. All I got to do now is make sure that I am not mistaken as a student. (It has already happened.) I have a lot to look forward to that's for sure. For starters I just want to give a shout out to my friends Chris and Sara who finally had their lil baby boy Graham today. I am so excited for them. They really are going to be the best parents ever. Oh and Sara, you really did look gorgeous today. Just had a baby and looked like she just got home from work. Amazing. You must have had that new Mom glow. He is so adorable. Wish I had pics. But I will save that for them to share. Last weekend we were invited to spend a very interesting night at the State Fair with Cher & Bryan, and our two lil pals Addie and Berkie. It was a lot of fun. They loved all the animals. Well Addie really did. Berkley...well, she just liked me and Zac's sno cone. I swear that girl ate three-fourths of that thing, and it was huge. Here are a few pics.

Me and Addie hanging out with the cows.

Taking a break from sno-cones.

We also celebrated my Dad, Grandma Mick, and Grandpa Pop's birthday this weekend. Here is the birthday cake that I made for them. I felt like Betty Crocker when all was said and done. It even tasted good. The only reason I show this picture is because this may never happen again. And after two days of prep work I felt like I had done something spectacular. (For me, this is spectacular.) It was really good to. If anyone wants the recipe. Let me know. It's a chocolate raspberry truffle cake.

I just love this picture of my Grandma Micks reading to the lil girls. They love books.
